Endowment Fund

resources   Endowment Fund

Petra has established several Endowment Funds which will allow you to invest in the ongoing work of the church while also enjoying certain tax benefits. Here’s how it works: You donate cash or other assets with a fair market value (real estate, securities, mutual fund shares, etc.) to Mennonite Foundation. Mennonite Foundation will invest your gift, and the earnings will be used for one of the Petra ministries listed below. Keep in mind that only the gift earnings will be used, not the principal.

  • Missions - Foreign and Local
  • Expansion - Land and/or Buildings
  • General Operations
  • Cemetery (Future)

You are free to designate which of these Endowment Funds your gift will be placed in.  An Endowment Team, appointed by the Elders, will manage the earnings. The Petra managers currently working with Mennonite Foundation are the Finance Team Leader and the Church Treasurer. Be aware that your gift represents an irrevocable contribution to Mennonite Foundation, and is not refundable to you.

Contact Administrative Pastor, Ken Reinford, or bookkeeper, Naomi Weaver, for more information.
