about Exploring Church Membership
Exploring Church Membership
Membership is about family – a church family. It is about belonging, care, protection, growth, responsibility, and commitment. Church membership allows us to publicly express our commitment to a local church and to each other. Membership at Petra is open to people age ten or older who have repented of their sins and have put their faith in Jesus Christ for their salvation.
A class – called “Exploring Church Membership” – is offered four times a year on a Saturday morning. Those who fulfill the requirements for membership will receive a Membership Certificate and will have their names printed in the church bulletin.
In our time together, we will explore Petra’s Faith and Values: who we are, what we believe and our vision for the future. You will also learn about our connection to other churches in the Hopewell Network. You will have the opportunity to apply for membership.
Coffee, tea, pastries and fruit will be served.
